Ninya Battle Outfit Concept

This was more or less a sketch that I went to far with. In the end, I left this piece just a LITTLE sloppy in parts due to that, but I can't believe I worked on this enough to finish it in the first place. >.< It's not even FULLY my picture.

I was wanting to come up with a new costume design for Ninya, and wanted something based off of Cassandra's SCIV costume. I was looking at references of her and just grabbed the great picture done by Jayun for a reference to paint over and sketch on...and then I kept painting...

So in the end I just finished it. >.> Anyway, some elements I didn't work with much, like the the major part of the legs. Just some simple extra contrast. Then I threw on a cheap photograph and with some quick painting over and some touches. But I still wanted to share it.

About the costume:
I've always loved the Soul Calibur designs, and when I wanted to design more unique clothing, I first thought of their designs. The main thought with Ninya was a design that let her attack quickly (and primarily with her legs). I actually would have preferred more the styling of Seong Mi-na for Ninya, which would have been perfect, but Victria from my comic already has that type of outfit, and I didn't want to overdo it. I was thinking of having her start in this, and then possibly adapt Victria's design later, so that way I could form it more into the story.

As for Cassandra's outfit, I liked bikini/bodice appraoch, but for my design, I wanted something with a little less armor (more movement) and a little elegance, hence the fish-tail shaped coat, which I wanted to mirror the chest opening.

The bikini area could become more "boy-shorts" length or short shorts even, but I'm not sure. Maybe it's fine. Opinions?
